Being on the fringes of playing in the band is the most frustrating thing for any inexperienced piper or drummer ('I was there once' - Pipey) This reprtoire has been chosen to give a variety of styles and a range of complexity so that learners and advancing players can be part of the band, with a limited tunes base, sooner than might be expected if they work hard, giving them more confidence to learn and improve to join the more advanced players, who encompass the more difficult pieces in the repertoire as well. In this way, the less experienced pipers help the band fulfill engagements with confidence, leading to more mature players more quickly and, ultimately, help the band to continue to grow. As the players become more experienced, they may suggest suitable tunes for the band to learn and perform, thus strengthening the repertoire. Please note the following list is a repertoire 'in progress'.
If you see a tune you wish to get hold of, please contact me, the Pipe Major, from HERE by email or phone. I can return the contact with either the BWW file (Bagpipe Player) or JPEG for printing, please state your preference. Tunes with a * indicate these are composed by the Pipe Major and are not generally available or known, but are still available in BWW or JPEG format, gladly given to spread new work around. All that is asked is that the original composer be credited, being Andi MacInnes.
